Welcome to the Bay Area Miata Drivers website

BAMD is an alternative to Miata clubs. We are a large, diverse group of active Miata enthusiasts, located primarily in the Bay Area, but any Miata owner who wants to use our forum can register. Our drivers own mostly NA and NB models (1990-2005). We love driving, wrenching on, and modifying our Miatas, and this website is a place to share the wealth of information and resources available in the Miata community.

We believe that Mazda designed the Miata to be driven hard, taking full advantage of its light weight, agility, and performance. We also appreciate the Miata's affinity for performance improvements. Though BAMD's primary function at this time is hosting our online forum, our drivers do occasionally get together for a back road run, focusing on performance without giving up safety. Below is a slide show with scenes from our past events.

Slower  Faster

BAMD no longer holds regular monthly tech sessions or organized back road drives, but many BAMD drivers participate in autocrosses, track days, and other motorsports events. For more information on BAMD and the history of our events, click the About tab above. Our drivers share a lot of useful information on our online forum, and also on our BAMD Facebook group, which is open to all registered BAMD drivers, and can be found here.

BAMD drivers are part of a large and thriving Bay Area Miata community. We connect Miata drivers in that community through our website and forum. We're not trying to take the place of other Miata forums, but we do have an active network of Miata enthusiasts who regularly exchange technical information, news, ideas, humor, stories, event info and plans. Checking the forum and the links above is a great way to find out what's happening in the Miata world, and also how much fun Miata owners are having.

We have no dues or fees and we are not a club. We don't have members, we have owners. We prefer zipping through back roads and working on our Miatas to dealing with money and forms. We have no executive board or elected officers, no sponsors or advertisers, and we stay clear of all club politics. If you'd like to be a part of BAMD, simply register online. We welcome all ages of Miata drivers who share a love for spirited driving in one of the greatest sports cars ever made, the Mazda Miata.

Note to BAMD Drivers

We invite registered BAMD drivers to send us stories or reviews, or use the Blog tab to start your own Miata blog. We know some Miata owners have a lot of technical/modification expertise, so we welcome technical articles as well. Email the webmaster with any photos, articles, ideas or questions you may have.
